Grant Description
In-kind grants to USA and territories public, private, and charter high schools to implement an engineering program. Funding is intended to cover the participation fee related to implementing the engineering program designed by the funding source. The purpose of the program is to help to reduce barriers and expand access to high-quality STEM education.

PLTW Engineering must be offered to students in the 2027-2028, 2028-2029, and 2029-2030 academic years. Grant awarded schools must:

  • Offer at least one PLTW Engineering course of the school's choosing to students in the 2027-2028 academic year
  • Offer at least two different PLTW Engineering courses of the school's choosing in 2028-2029 academic year

This grant will directly cover the following costs associated with implementation of PLTW Engineering: 

  • Year 1: 2027-2028 PLTW Engineering participation fee;  
  • Year 2: 2028-2029 PLTW Engineering participation fee; and 
  • Four (4) PLTW Engineering Core Training registration fees. Teachers at awarded schools have until October 1, 2029 to register for PLTW Engineering Core Trainings using their grant awarded training seats.

Additional Eligibility Criteria
School Type: Public, Private, Charter

Eligible schools must be located in a US state, US territory, or DC. All schools are encouraged to apply including:
• Public, private and charter schools
• Rural, urban and suburban schools
• Districts/schools seeking to begin PLTW or existing PLTW districts seeking to offer a complete PLTW program pathway
Ineligible
PLTW does not make grants to the following groups:
• For-profit entities or companies
• Individuals
• Informal groups
• After-school clubs or extracurricular-only programs
• Schools or organizations located outside the United States and its territories. PLTW's current operational and compliance infrastructure is designed to support domestic grantmaking activities. As such, PLTW is unable to consider international applications at this time.
Pre-Application Information
This is a rolling grant opportunity. Awards will be made twice monthly.

Apply By: June 18, 2027

Please note, there is no cash value for this grant. If awarded, funds will not be sent directly to the awarded school. Instead, PLTW will directly apply grant awarded items to the school's PLTW account.
