Grants to New Jersey businesses in eligible locations to encourage environmentally-friendly and eco-conscious business practices. The goal of the program is to support businesses in achieving a qualifiable reduction in plastic usage. Eligible applicants are located in all wards across Jersey City.
Greener JC is funding organizations and businesses that are determined to take initiatives toward reducing plastic pollution and fostering a cleaner and healthier environment.
Funding can support the purchase of more eco conscious items, efforts to phase out styrofoam or plastic straws, or other programs to decrease plastic use. Beginning May 4, 2022, single-use carryout bags and polystyrene foam food service products will be banned in New Jersey stores and food service businesses, so take advantage of this opportunity to get your business prepared while doing your part to make a greener Jersey City.
