Description:

Grants to USA individuals to participate in horse riding events. Funding is intended for travel expenses and the educational development of a promising rider. The goal of the funding is to advance the skills, to inspire, and to expand the knowledge of developing riders at the international level.

The Rebecca Broussard Developing Rider Grants are designed to assist and to encourage the development of event riders at the highest level of the sport. These grants are awarded to offset some of the travel and training expenses in the pursuit of achieving the qualities of an international rider.

The Rebecca Broussard Developing Rider Fund is separated into three types:

  1. The Rebecca Broussard Developing Rider Travel Funds are intended to assist riders who display the potential qualities of an international rider to travel to compete at The Eventing at Rebecca Farm, an exemplary international event. The intention of these funds is to have competitors compete in The Event at Rebecca Farm CCI4*-L or CCI4*-S divisions held in July each year. While there, riders will interview before members of the grant committee. From this group of competing riders, as well as riders who did not receive the travel funds but still qualified and competed in the CCI4* at The Event at Rebecca Farm, and completed the interview process, the larger grants will be awarded.
  2. The Rebecca Broussard International Developing Rider Grant (also known as the “Big Becky”) is awarded for the educational development of an international quality rider based on competition in eventing on the global stage. The recipient of the grant will be selected by the grant committee based on performance record, interview, and involvement with the eventing community.
  3. The Rebecca Broussard National Developing Rider Grant (also known as the “Little Becky”) is awarded for the educational development of an international quality rider based on competition in eventing on the national stage. The recipient of the grant will be selected by the grant committee based on performance record, interview, and involvement with the eventing community.

The International and National Developing Rider Grants may be used to offset expenses incurred to compete at international FEI events held outside of the United States.
