TO PROVIDE VOLUNTARY FIRE PROTECTION AND SUPPRESSION TO THE CITIZENS AND VISITORS OF THE TOWNSHIP OF LYNDHURST, BERGEN COUNTY, NEW JERSEY, PROVIDE MUTUAL ASSISTANCE TO THE NEIGHBORING TOWNS, PROMOTE FIRE PREVENTION PROGRAMS, PROVIDE SUPPORT TO OTHER NOT FOR PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS, AWARD SCHOLARSHIPS TO QUALIFIED STUDENTS FOR HIGHER EDUCATION, PRESENTATION OF PROGRAMS NOT FINANCIALLY SUPPORTED THOUGH PUBLIC FUNDING, SOCIAL AND FRATERNAL EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES NOT FINANCIALLY SUPPORTED THROUGH PUBLIC FUNDING, AND SUPPLEMENTAL FUNDING FOR MEMBERS OF THE FIRE DEPARTMENT, FIRE COMPANY, OR OTHER ASSOCIATED FIRE SERVICE INDIVIDUAL WHO BECOMES INDIGENT OR OTHERWISE INCAPABLE OF PROVIDING FOOD OR SHELTER FOR THEMSELVES AND/OR THEIR FAMILY MEMBERS.
