Deadline Date:

Description:

Request a Grant Writer

Grants to USA nonprofit organizations in multiple states for innovative arts programs. Applicants must submit a letter of interest prior to submitting a full proposal. Proposals and initiatives that are new and untested are encouraged to apply. While funding priorities are focused in the Mid-Atlantic and New England area, GKV will read and consider all LOIs that are submitted.

The Foundation's core belief is that smartly guided exposure to the arts will positively impact an individual’s intellectual and social skills and ultimately contribute to improving our global home. The Foundation wants to encourage and will take a chance on new, yet-to-be-tested initiatives based on a broad range of artistic expressions. The goal is that with GKV first-year funding enough measurable results will be achieved to attract sustaining funding from other sources.

Number of Grants:

Three to four new grants are awarded each year.

Estimated Size of Grant:

Ideal grant sizes are somewhere between $25,000 and $50,000.

Multi-year grants may be requested. In some cases the Foundation offers continuing 2nd and 3rd year extensions if certain criteria are achieved particularly a level of matching funds.

Extensions of grants into subsequent years are part of the Foundation's plan, but the extension will be a fraction of the first year grant and then only if other grantors can be convinced that the program is worth their “investment” given first year results.
