Grants ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 to New Jersey nonprofits for programs that address the basic needs of impoverished school-aged children in grades PreK-8. Eligible projects are those that serve the communities of Livingston, East Orange, Millburn, Maplewood, Orange, Short Hills, South Orange, Springfield, and West Orange.
Programs should further JLOSH’s new “Fill the Need Initiative”. This initiative focuses on addressing the basic needs of low-income children in the joint service area through community work dedicated to closing the gap on food insecurity, school supply gaps, essential clothing and basic hygiene needs of school-aged children (PreK – 8th grade) living in poverty.
JLOSH believes that when these basic needs are met, it can help low-income children focus their energy on succeeding in school and building a more secure future.
