Grants of up to $12,000 to New Jersey nonprofit organizations in eligible locations to improve the quality of life for local families and individuals. Applicants must submit an LOI prior to submitting a full application. Funding is intended for programs that promote education in the arts, history, and the health and wellbeing of community residents. Applicants must serve the local community of Central New Jersey.

Requests must support programs that are consistent with the mission and priorities of the Foundation.
Mission:
  • The Astle-Alpaugh Family Foundation is a private grant-making organization with a mission to improve the lives of individuals and families. Funding priorities are derived from involvement in the local community of Central New Jersey.
  • The Foundation seeks to provide stability and hope for the elderly and for at-risk children and youth, as well as for persons suffering from illness, hunger, poverty, abuse, and chemical dependency.
  • The Foundation strives to foster community involvement in education and funds diverse educational programs.
  • The Foundation places a strong priority on the improvement of the local community and supports museums, community centers, and historic preservation.

Estimated Size of Grant:

Proposals will be considered up to a maximum of $12,000.

Term of Contract:

- Projects that extend over multiple fiscal years are ineligible for support.
- Organizations receiving awards are eligible to apply for funding in subsequent years, following successful programming and fulfillment of reporting requirements.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Organizations eligible to apply for a grant from the Foundation must:
- Be nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organizations
- Serve the local community in the eligible region

The Foundation no longer funds student scholarships.

Pre-Application Information:

2021 Grant Cycle:
- The Cycle opens: June 1, 2021
- Letter of Inquiry (LOI) submissions are accepted from June 1, 2021 through September 1, 2021
- LOI Deadline: September 1, 2021 - LOIs must be submitted or postmarked on this date to be considered
- Requests for Full Proposals (RFPs) are sent by: October 25, 2021
- Deadline for Full Proposals: January 11, 2022 - Proposals must be submitted or postmarked by this date to be considered
- Grant Awards and Agreement Letters Issued no later than March 7, 2022* Award amounts, if any, will be determined by this time
